Puyallup CERT Training 2027: Free Emergency Preparedness Classes

As part of LMD Disaster Survival Kits' Gear Up Puyallup campaign, we want to help connect our community with local preparedness opportunities that can make a real difference before, during, and after a disaster.

One of those opportunities is the City of Puyallup Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training.

CERT training gives community members practical skills in disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, team organization, and other important response activities. The Spring 2027 CERT Basic course is FREE, and the City of Puyallup welcomes participants from a variety of ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We encourage anyone interested in becoming better prepared and learning how they can help their family, neighbors, and community during an emergency to take a look at the flyer below.

Michael Cady, MSDM, NEMAA, is an emergency management professional with more than 30 years of experience working with first responders, five years of federal disaster recovery experience assisting disaster survivors and has operated LMD Disaster Survival Kits since 2007. Michael holds associate and bachelor's degrees in Homeland Security Emergency Management and a master's degree in Climate Security and Disaster Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He currently supports emergency management, health, and safety measures for more than 500 staff in a behavioral health organization.
